Autumn/Winter 22: Apricity – Warmth of Winter Sun

As a child I went to Kashmir (very norther part of India). That region has proper winters with snow due to the location and the Himalayan Mountains.

This part of the country is rich in its own textiles. Much different than all of the cotton ones in the warmer parts of the country. Warm shawls made with intricate embroidery. Colors are richer and warmer. There are knitted Jacquards.

Every time I look back at those memories of being in the mountain snow for the first time, I remember how cold my feet felt but more importantly how glorious the warmth of the sun felt on my face.

I want to evoke that contrasting emotion with this collection. A warmth you can only enjoy with the cold of winter. Apricity.
